Virginia "Carroll" Marcum Print E-mail

Virginia MarcumVirginia "Carroll" Marcum, 77 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, Ohio.

Mrs. Marcum was born in Lorain, Ohio on September 17, 1939 and made her home in Elyria for most of her life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed growing flowers, quilting, traveling with her husband, and she was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses on Chestnut Ridge in Elyria.

She is survived by her children, sons, James (Rita) Marcum of Wellington, Allen (Melissa) Marcum of Lorain; daughters, Alberta Marcum of Elyria and Carolyn Sue (Brian) Vezina of Elyria; Eight grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Cathey, Iva "Sandy" Coffin, and Kathleen Lewis all of Elyria; and three brothers, Patrick Cathey of Texas, Michael Cathey of Elyria, and Clifford Cathey of Grafton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. in 2013; and a sister, Pamela Bandel; and her parents, Clifford C. and Virginia (nee Honeycutt) Cathey.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be in the funeral home of Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Elder Richard Parfitt of the Elyria East Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
