Marion “Betty” Brown Print E-mail

Betty BrownMarion “Betty” Brown (Nee Cooper), age 93 of Elyria, passed away Tuesday March 27, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Residential Center following a long illness. Betty was born December 17, 1924 in Jeanette, Pennsylvania. Elyria has been her home since 1950.

Betty was a charter member of the Community United Methodist Church in Elyria where she enjoyed volunteering serving the Friday Night Meal for many years. She was employed as a sales associate at Higbee’s at Midway Mall. Betty loved to bake for her family. She was a very caring and loving person open to everyone she met. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Judith (companion Mark Metzger) Easterwood of Findlay, Ohio, and by a son James (Elizabeth) Brown of Amherst, Ohio; grandchildren William Brown, James Bradly Dingus, Jason (Katie) Brown, Tracey (Rich) Brown, Leann Hayes, Samuel Eastwood, and Wendy North; eleven great grandchildren;, one great great grandchild; and one sister Helen (John) Yocsak of Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Brown in 2002; two brothers Paul and Roy Cooper; and by her parents James and Gertrude Cooper (Nee Nichols).

Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria on Tuesday April 3, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Community United Methodist Church, 680 North Abbe Rd, Elyria, Ohio. Pastor Kevin Hogan will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.

We are sadden that Aunt Betty has passed. And, we are happy she had a long and loving life with friends and family. We will ALWAYS remember her GREAT sense of humor and her quick wit. She will always be with us in laughterϪd
