Jean E. Damon, 91 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 .at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, Ohio following a long illness

Ms. Damon was born on May 9, 1927 in Jamestown, New York and graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School in 1944. She was a former member of Faith United Methodist Church in Twinsburg, Ohio and had a long, successful nursing career, graduating from Meyer Memorial Hospital Nursing School, receiving her BSN at the University of Buffalo, and her Masters in Nursing Administration at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She accepted a position as Assistant Director of Nursing at Cleveland Metro and was the first Director of Nursing at the former Lorain Community Hospital. She went on to hold Director of Nursing positions at Robinson Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio, Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit and also was the Associate Administrator at Youngstown Hospital Association. She retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Patient Services at Western Reserve Psychiatric Hospital in Northfield, Ohio.

Ms. Damon is survived by one daughter, Sherry Wallace of Elyria; three grandsons, Paul (Samantha) Wallace of Houston, Texas, Matthew (Barbara) Wallace of Oberlin, and Brian (Cathy) Wallace of Lavonia, Michigan; eight great grandchildren, Allison, Sarah, Amy, William, Jack, Thomas, Harper, and Nathan Wallace.

Also surviving are a sister in law, Julia Damon of Amherst and a niece, Janet Linn of Amherst

She was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Damon; and her parents, Carl and Grace (nee Ireland) Damon.

Burial will take place in Gerry Cemetery, Gerry, New York

We enjoyed many years golfing with Jean at Kent State course and I know she also joyed those days and lunch afterwards. We have all grown old together.
